With the new year coming up, we will be adding a licensed massage therapist to our team. Our very own Erin Boaden is going to be joining us to provide some high-quality injury prevention and recovery. Her therapeutic massages will work out your knots, relax your body, and leave you feeling amazing! That being said, I thought this would be a great time to talk about what getting a monthly massage can do for both our minds and our body.
Deeper & Easier Breathing
Breathing is something we focus on a lot here at Fit For All. One thing that a lot of people don’t realize is that massage can do wonders for your respiratory system. A lot of the muscles in the front and back of your upper body are accessory respiratory muscles. When these muscles are tight and sore, they can restrict your normal breathing and cause you to have irregular breathing patterns. Massage loosens and relaxes those muscles, resulting in a much easier time breathing. If respiratory issues, such as asthma, allergies, sinus problems, or bronchitis, massage is definitely something you should consider.
Bad posture is something that the majority of us suffer from. Hunching over is easy, and a lot of us have desk jobs where we don’t always remember to sit up straight. Bad posture can make your muscles sore, so a nice massage can help relax and loosen those muscles. This will allow your body to position itself in its natural state. Better posture also goes hand in hand with your breathing! Bad posture can restrict the muscles of your respiratory system, so if you can improve your posture it will also assist in your breathing.
Stress & Anxiety Relief
Though relieving stress and anxiety is one of the most comment reasons to get a massage, it’s also very important. Stress and anxiety play such a huge role in our lives. It can affect your day-to-day quality of life if your stress and/or anxiety levels are too high. In fact, constant stress can lead to headaches, chest pains, and sleeping problems. During a massage, your heart rate and blood pressure are lowered. There is also an increase in the production of endorphins, which are your body’s natural “feel good” chemicals. On top of that, dopamine and serotonin are released, which both aid in calming you down.
Monthly Massage Package
Now that you’ve been reminded of how amazing massages are, make sure you prioritize them in the new year (if you aren’t already). Their benefits are incredible! A once a month massage can do wonders for your mind and your body. They’re a great way to not only fix issues you currently have, but to prevent future injury. Monthly massages will be available as an add-on to your current membership for just $60/month (PLUS you can get additional massages in that month for only $50). We will also have drop-in massages available as well for $70. You can see Jordyn if you would like to add them to your membership. Hope you all have an amazing holiday! Make sure to relax!
